Tampa Bay Chapter - NBMBA A, Inc. Applications Now Available for Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT) Program
Leaders of Tommorow® The NBMBAA Leaders of Tomorrow® program is a network of students and business professionals focusing on student empowerment through leadership, professional development, goal setting and attainment, scholarship, and community service. The program targets African-American high school students who show promise, drive and ambition across a broad spectrum, guiding them towards lifelong success through education and direct exposure to working professionals, entrepreneurs and business educators. The Tampa Bay Chapter is excited to launch the program, providing an excellent opportunity to make an impactful difference in the lives of our youth in the bay area. |
LOT 2008-2009 in Tampa Bay
Our youth and community partners can get invoved locally through mentoring, tutoring, workshops, chaperoned college tours and scholarship programs for college-bound students. Mentors guide the students through a challenging program designed to help them develop the skills and attitudes necessary for success. Leaders participate in a variety of activities, workshops, and events that emphasize growth in the following areas: - Leadership - Academics - Professional Development - Community Service - Securing Internships & Scholarships - Goal Setting and Attainment Each participating chapter tailors programs to meet the specific needs of youth in their areas. The Tampa Bay Leaders of Tomorrow® program will begin accepting applications starting November 3 - December 1, 2008. Applications are now available online and can be downloaded below. Completed application submissions must be postmarked by Monday, December 1, 2008. Applicants will be interviewed and selected participants will be notified by Monday, December 15, 2008.
African-American inner-city high school youth with leadership desires in grades 9th through 12th with a grade point average of C- or higher, attending the following schools* are eligible to apply: - C. Leon King High School - Hillsborough High School - Howard W. Blake High School - Middleton High Schoool - Tampa Bay Technical High School *Additional schools will be considered for participation in future years. The program will begin January 2009. |
